Everyone said that this was the perfect time of year to visit Japan but no one took into account the typhoon out in the Pacific somewhere!! We decided long ago to not let weather slow us down while on vacation so I donned my Portland rain gear and braved the elements. I had a great day!
Can you see the rain from the roof that is supposed to be draining into the large barrel? The wind was blowing so hard that it completely missed.
I was touched by the number of people worshipping in this Buddhist Temple. It seemed rude to take their picture but you can see some of the flowers that were left at this Buddha.
Then in the afternoon a very friendly Japanese man pointed out this beautiful rainbow! We just smiled and nodded at each other but both agreed that is was spectacular! Amazing what you can communicate with a smile!
