And Speaking of Fabulous Hotels......

What a totally mesmerizing place!  I loved the two nights we got to stay and am disappointed that we didn't get to end our trip with 3 more nights here.  However, if we had stayed until the day we were scheduled to leave, we would have gotten out on one of the very last flights before the UAE totally shut down their airport so I know we made the right decision.

The complex is a series of beautiful buildings connected by 'Venice like' and meticulously maintained waterways.
You can take small boats to explore either by day or by night.
One area has a complex of villas for rent, some with private pools and all with a butler.  I only want a butler if it is Mr. Carson from Downton Abbey! Tom Cruise stayed in one of these villas for 70 days when he was here filming Mission Impossible.
If you want to go to the Water Park, you simply request a golf cart and are whisked away!
The water park has one of my very favorite things - a Lazy River.
We weren't totally 'lazy' the whole time, we did do a few of the big more adventurous rides but were holding on too tight to take photos.
Luckily we went to the Water Park in the late morning and headed for the beach about 2:30.  At 3:00 by order of the government, the park was closed.

Ahh the beach! Soft Sand, super comfortable lounge chairs, ice cold water bottles, and an occasional treat like a small popsicle....they treat you like royalty!
John and George were totally relaxed!  I just read that the day after we left,  all the hotels had to close their beaches and pools.  Again, an affirmation that we did the right thing to leave when we did.
And finally a word about breakfast - most important meal of the day!  Right? It was here that we first were introduced to 'breakfast ice cream'.  What a way to start the day!  Reminded me of Bill Crosby's old 'Chocolate Cake for Breakfast' routine!  After all ice cream has milk and eggs.  Doesn't that sound 'breakfast-y'?
Ice cream wasn't the only good part!   Avocado toast
Every kind of pastry you could possibly imagine
What a way to start the day!
I hope we get to come back here sometime without having to deal with COVID 19.
