A 'must' for any trip to Cappadocia is a pre-dawn hot air balloon ride.
The sight of all those balloon rising above that fantastical landscape is not something I'll soon forget!
Watching the sun rise just added to the beauty of the morning.
The only sound is the "swish" of the gas flame.
Absolutely beautiful and totally peaceful! Some of the time it felt as if we were just marking time in space!
Quite a memorable way to start the day!
John and Katherine loved it too!
Most of the people in our tour group had completely uneventful landings. Some balloons even landed right on the trailer! Not our balloon!
We crashed landed on our side with George and me in the group in the top section and John and Katherine in the bottom! Now won't that always be a more exciting story than a smooth landing upright on the trailer?
Notice that we even got medals! We weren't sure if we got those because of our crash landing or not.
