Grandpa and Jackson

A highlight of this trip for me was watching Jackson and George develop a relationship.  So sweet to witness it happening!

George tagged along on Mark and Jackson's weekly Saturday morning trip to Waffle House.

Enjoyed ice cream
Hiked along the Potomac
George attended his first ever horse race.
Grandpa wears many hats  - thanks to Jackson!
Baseball and soccer in the backyard.
Jackson can hit!
He's becoming quite a soccer player with a strong leg.
We played girls against the boys and the boys won by a mile.
After we left, Mary asked Jackson what his favorite part was while we were visiting.
Not our trip to DC
Not the Flight 93 Memorial
Not the cave and gem finding
Not Assateague Island
Not off-roading with Grandma
Nope.
The best part was playing soccer in the backyard with Grandpa.
That makes me so happy!

Supercalifragilisticespialidocious

Each spring break a group of dedicated and extremely patient directors of Meridian Children's Theatre bring a group of children together to perform a musical.  Every child who tries out is given a part and then they practice every day during spring break and perform on the weekend.  Several kids from our ward participate.  This year they were doing a junior version of Mary Poppins and we decided that it would be a perfect outing with our darling granddaughter, her first time at a play.

I think she enjoyed it!
Her favorite scenes were the ones with most all of the cast singing and dancing.
Her favorite character was the girl with the pink hair who taught the group
'Supercalifragilisticespialidocious'
I agree she was darling!

I am impressed with the adults who manage to turn this large group of excited kids into the cast of a play!  They do a great job.
Isabella loved meeting Mary Poppins.
And she loved our traditional doughnuts on the way home.  George loved that we got there so close to closing time that they gave us the doughnuts for free.

We all love spending time with Isabella!
