Back when nobody had heard of Hana, the owner of the Hotel Hana Maui wanted desperately to attract people here. He had a choice. Tell people they could visit the fabulous 'Oheo'o Gulch' or the wondrous 'Seven Sacred Pools' (a name he made up). Which do you think looked better on the brochure? For the record there are not seven of them and they have never been sacred. But they were beautiful and refreshing after our hike. Maybe a little too refreshing when the sun was no longer warming them!
