We interrupt the Africa pictures

We interrupt the Africa posts to bring you - July 4th in Boise
A perfect weekend!  We introduced Isabella to a splash pad....
Which of course she LOVED!
The girl loves water, even a sprinkler is nearly irresistible!
Now she's a big girl who can negotiate a slide all by herself!
And she is totally delighted with her new found skills and independence!
We also got to take her swimming which was fun for Grandma and Grandpa  as well!
And I bought a fun little wading pool for our back yard.  She loved that too!
On the 4th of July we had a traditional meal with hot dogs, barbecued chicken, potato salad, and watermelon.
Then we hiked up into the foothills to see the fireworks.  Absolutely perfect as there were no crowds and Isabella wasn't scared at all! Unlike our granddaughter, Jackson our 'grand-dog' was terrified so Scott stayed home to comfort him as best he could.  I believe he and all dogs would totally outlaw fireworks if they could!
Isabella hiked almost the whole way to the top by herself.  Her Daddy finally picked her up because he was in a hurry and she wanted to stop and explore!
I was impressed by this 20 month old's stamina!
Once we were on the top, we set up chairs and just enjoyed the view....well Bella wanted to keep exploring but the rest of us relaxed!
The view was wonderful as we could see the whole valley.  There were the fireworks at the fair grounds and many illegal fireworks all over the entire valley.  Combined they made quite a show!
I think we have a new family tradition!
